The workshop will run 9am-6pm and the concert will go from 7:30-9pm.

No! It is free to apply and attend the Summit. It is also free for families to attend the concert in the evening. Entrance to the concert will be on a first-come-first-served basis.

The project is a collaboration between three organizations: Buskerfest Miami, Live! Modern School of Music and Magic City Opera. It is funded through a grant by the Music Access Fellowship.

The Summit is designed for young musicians aged 14-18. All genres and skill levels will be considered.

You’ll be spending a full day with us, so plan accordingly. Lunch, dinner and snacks will be provided. Some things to consider bringing with you include:

  • Your instrument!
  • Extra accessories (strings, picks, reeds, valve oil etc.)
  • Pencils and/or pens
  • A notebook
  • A water bottle
  • A positive attitude!

School appropriate attire is the way to go. Make sure you wear comfortable shoes – it will be a long day and you will be on your feet for long periods of playing. If you plan to perform in the concert, you may want to bring a change of clothes.

The Youth Music Summit is a full day of educational workshops and masterclasses, followed by a public concert of student ensembles. It is part of Make Music Miami, a celebration of the Summer Solstice on June 21 that seeks to reach every Miamian with free music performances and activities.
